The Temple Gopuram structure is the six faces of Lord Shanmukha. The Sanctum (Garbha Gudi) and its outer circle (Prakara), devotees’ hall, outer walls, roof design – all are ‘Star’ shape constructions. In other words, the design of the whole Temple is based on ‘Star” concept. The design of the entire temple structure is based on the very name of Lord Shanmukha, which means a ‘Six Faced God’. The six faces of Lord Shanmukha are 6″ thick concrete moulded structures. The Crystal Dome above the Gopuram has a height of 42′, with 33′ Diameter and 105′ Circumference. The total height of the temple is 123′ of which the six faced Gopuram itself is 62′ (including 19′ up to neck). This unique Temple is situated on a hillock which is 240′ from the ground level. The luminous capacity of the Crystal Dome ranges from 36,000 Lumina (at a minimum value of 18 per unit) to 3, 70,000 Lumina (at a maximum value of 186 per unit) and the power consumption ranges from 2KW to 54 KW. The total output works out to 67,500 Watts. In the evening, the crystals are illuminated by 27 Watt LED lights, each crystal disseminating 16 colour combination lights, forming 138 patterns. During day time, when direct Sun Light falls on the crystals, the same is converted into a beautiful “Rainbow” pattern. The Crystal Dome stands at a commanding height of 42′ from the top of the Temple Gopuram, embedded with 2500 Nos. Arunachalam as His contractor to build Shrungagiri Sri Shanmukha Temple on the hillock.
